The alcohol and tobacco tax and trade bureau (TTB) protects the public by enforcing the provisions of the Federal Alcohol Administration Act (FAA Act) to ensure that only qualified persons engage in the alcohol beverage industry in the US. They are responsible for enforcing the laws regulating alcohol production, importation, and wholesale businesses; tobacco manufacturing and importing businesses; alcohol labeling and advertising; and excise taxes and filing.
In this capacity I was responsible for the following:
Conduct initial capture with the customer and define the design scope of the work
Hire and manage two design teams responsible for the research, redesign, and strategy behind improving legacy federal systems
Manage changing scope and timelines while ensuring that the entire team is aware of the changes on daily bases
Conduct weekly design reviews with product owners and other stakeholders
Conduct strategy and alignment design thinking workshops with key stakeholders and end-users
Work closely with incumbent consultants to ensure a smooth transition of assets and knowledge
Ensure quality of the work while balancing team burnout
Remove team impediments and encouraging innovation and leadership
